Welcome to my Blog

Hello there. My name is Dan Koelsch. This is my blog. I'll be posting all kinds of random stuff that comes to my mind. My interests include movies and television, politics, board games, sports (especially basketball), science, and more.

The only regularly scheduled programming that I have at the moment is my "2020 Democratic Presidential Nominee Weekly Power Rankings", which I will post every Wednesday. I'm considering some other weekly posts (like a movie trailer round-up and review), but let me know if you have any suggestions. I'm very open and eager for feedback on all aspects of this website.

Here are some tidbits about myself in case you're new to me:

• I was born in Texas. I grew up mostly in Frederick, Maryland, but attended high schools in 3 different states (Rhode Island, California, and Maryland).
• I have a BA in Radio-TV-Film from Cal State Fullerton, with a Minor in Advertising.
• My career has mostly been as a buyer, working at the CSUF campus store, Newegg.com, and now Boeing Global Services. 
• I ran a film news blog for 6 years, and got to attend movie premieres and meet celebrities.
• My wife Jaclyn and I have been married for over 2 years. We have baby daughter, Cameron, and a 4 year old dog, Remy.
• I have two older brothers who live in Georgia and Florida. I have four nieces between them.
• My parents were in the Air Force, so we lived briefly in Belgium and Iraq when I was an toddler.
• I’m a board game enthusiast with almost 100 games in my collection.
• My sports teams are the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Orioles, and Washington Capitals. I was named after the legendary Dolphins QB Dan Marino.
